As a family-owned flooring company serving the local community since 1945, we understand that every project comes with different priorities. Our knowledgeable team will help you compare materials, colors, performance features, and installation requirements so you can make a confident decision.

Whether you are replacing the flooring in one room, updating an entire home, or coordinating a large commercial installation, Modern Carpet & Flooring is ready to help. Explore our flooring services below, then contact us to discuss your project and request an estimate.

Carpet Installation

Carpet adds warmth, softness, sound control, and comfort to bedrooms, living rooms, family rooms, offices, and other spaces. Our professional carpet installation service helps ensure your new flooring looks smooth, fits properly, and performs as intended. We can assist with carpet selection, accurate measurements, padding choices, ordering, and installation to create a cohesive experience from start to finish.

Whether you prefer a plush feel, a low-profile style for an active area, or durable commercial carpet, our team can guide you toward a suitable solution. Careful installation supports consistent seams, secure edges, proper stretching, and a polished appearance.

Custom Stair Runner Installation

A custom stair runner can add color, texture, comfort, and traction while allowing portions of the staircase beneath it to remain visible. Because stairs require careful measuring, pattern placement, and fitting, professional installation is especially important. Our team creates custom stair runner solutions designed around the dimensions and style of your staircase.

Choose from a variety of carpet styles, colors, patterns, and border options to complement the rest of your home. Whether your taste is traditional, tailored, bold, or understated, we can help you select a runner that feels intentional within your space. We account for the stair layout and the visual flow of the material, then install the runner with close attention to alignment and detail. The result is a staircase that feels more comfortable underfoot and looks finished from top to bottom.

Custom Area Rugs

An area rug can define a room, soften hard-surface flooring, reduce noise, and tie together furniture and décor. When standard rug sizes or styles do not suit your space, a custom area rug provides a more personalized solution. Modern Carpet & Flooring can help you create a rug in the size, shape, color, and material that works for your room.

Custom area rugs are ideal for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, entryways, and offices. Our specialists can help you consider proportion, traffic, comfort, maintenance, and the surrounding flooring. Whether you want a neutral foundation or a statement piece, we will help create a rug made for your space.

Luxury Vinyl Tile and Luxury Vinyl Plank Installation

Luxury vinyl tile and luxury vinyl plank, often called LVT and LVP, combine attractive visuals with practical performance. Available in designs inspired by hardwood, stone, and tile, luxury vinyl is popular for kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, offices, retail spaces, and other active environments.

Our LVT and LVP installation service begins with accurate planning and product guidance. We help you choose an option that matches the room, desired look, and expected traffic. Proper preparation and layout are essential for a clean, stable result, so our installers pay close attention to the condition of the installation surface, plank or tile placement, transitions, and finishing details. With professional luxury vinyl installation from Modern Carpet & Flooring, you can enjoy a floor that delivers both style and functionality.

Laminate Flooring Installation

Laminate flooring offers the appearance of natural wood or stone in a durable, budget-conscious format. Available in many colors, plank widths, textures, and styles, it can suit living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, home offices, and other areas where you want attractive hard-surface flooring with straightforward care.

The quality of a laminate floor depends on both the product and the installation. Our team will help evaluate your space, explain available options, and plan the layout. During installation, attention to expansion space, locking systems, transitions, and finishing work helps the floor perform correctly and look complete. We provide professional laminate flooring installation for Albany-area homeowners and businesses seeking dependable results without unnecessary complications.

Hardwood Flooring Installation

Hardwood flooring brings natural beauty, warmth, and lasting appeal to a property. With many species, colors, finishes, board widths, and constructions available, hardwood can complement everything from historic Albany homes to modern commercial interiors.

Our team can help you compare hardwood flooring options based on the style of your property, the installation area, and your preferences for appearance and upkeep. Professional hardwood installation requires accurate measurements, thoughtful board placement, and careful attention to the installation environment. We coordinate the details and complete the work with an emphasis on fit, consistency, and craftsmanship. Whether hardwood is part of a single-room renovation or a larger property update, we help create a finished result that enhances the entire space.

Cork Flooring Installation

Cork flooring offers a distinctive combination of natural beauty, comfort, and everyday practicality. Its resilient surface feels warmer and softer underfoot than many hard flooring materials, while its sound-absorbing qualities can help create a quieter interior. Available in a variety of colors, patterns, tiles, and planks, cork can work well in bedrooms, living areas, home offices, libraries, and select commercial spaces.

Our team can help you determine whether cork is appropriate for your room, lifestyle, and maintenance expectations. Because proper surface preparation, acclimation, layout, and finishing are important to its performance, professional cork flooring installation helps support a stable and polished result. We will guide you through the available options and coordinate the installation so your new cork floor complements both your space and the way you use it.

Sheet Vinyl Flooring Installation

Sheet vinyl is valued for its comfort, easy maintenance, and broad range of colors and patterns. Because it can cover many rooms with few seams, it is well suited to kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, rental units, healthcare settings, and commercial properties.

Professional installation is important because sheet vinyl must be measured, cut, positioned, and secured with precision. The surface beneath it also needs to be properly evaluated and prepared, since irregularities may affect the finished appearance. Our installers manage these details carefully and finish edges and transitions for a neat, cohesive result. We will help you select sheet vinyl that suits the demands and design of your space, then install it for dependable everyday use.

Residential Flooring Installation

Modern Carpet & Flooring handles residential flooring installations of many sizes, from bedroom carpet and custom stair runners to hard-surface flooring throughout the home. We can help you compare choices for busy family spaces, pet-friendly households, moisture-prone rooms, quiet bedrooms, and design-focused areas. Clear planning and communication help reduce disruption and make the process easier to navigate.

Commercial Flooring Installation

We provide commercial flooring installation for offices, retail environments, multifamily properties, hospitality spaces, and other facilities in Albany and the Capital Region. We work with business owners, property managers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify materials and organize installation. Durability, maintenance, appearance, schedule, and budget all inform our recommendations.

Flooring Project Coordination From Start to Finish

A successful flooring project involves more than the installation date. Measurements, product selection, estimates, ordering, delivery, site readiness, scheduling, transitions, and communication all need to work together. Our project coordination service provides a clear point of contact and helps keep these moving parts aligned.

The process begins with a conversation about your space, goals, timing, and budget. We help narrow the product choices, arrange measurements, and review the installation plan. Once materials are selected, our team coordinates ordering and scheduling while keeping you informed. For larger residential and commercial projects, we can communicate with relevant decision-makers and work within the broader renovation or construction schedule. This organized approach helps identify questions early and create a smoother experience.
